52 Weeks in the Word - Week 3
Week 2 has come to an end. This week we've had great discussions going in the group. Genesis was a book that kept our attention! It was full of wonderful takeaways, including forgiveness and redemption.
A brief recap of Week 2's discussions:
- Consequences of blessings and curses
- Early generations without Jesus or Scripture getting to Heaven
- Burying idols
- Examples of forgiveness
- The fact that Joseph's brothers did not take his advice when talking with the Pharoah in Chapter 47
- Woman being an equal helper to man, with a deeper meaning than the generic meaning of helper today.
We even had some of these discussions in the discussion posts this week of the blog, so feel free to go back and read through the first two weeks' discussions on this blog. We want to encourage you, if you have a question, reach out and ask. Feel free to leave a comment here or in your small group text. We have enjoyed digging deeper with you all this week.
Looking ahead to Week 3:
The reading for Week 3 includes: Exodus 1 - 21.
This week we begin reading the book of Exodus, which the students in my Sunday School class learn the word means "going out". If Genesis kept your attention, the book of Exodus should not disappoint. We will read about the slavery of Israel, Moses is introduced, the burning bush moment, plagues (many of them), the Exodus and crossing of the Red Sea, and the Ten Commandments... just to name a few highlights.
May the Lord richly bless each one of you as you read His Word this week. May you grow deeper in your relationship with Him as you read further into His Word.
We can't wait to hear from you this week!
Remember that the one that controls the wind and waters of the Red Sea also controlled them in the NT when the disciples asked … who is this that controls the wind and sea?
