52 Weeks in the Word - Week 14
Week 14! Local friends, this week in middle Tennessee has been most unique due to all the tornado warnings and rain! How is everyone doing with their reading? If you have fallen a little behind, please do not give up! Jump in, listen to the Word or take it with you everywhere you go, and jump in with our conversations! We want to keep hearing from you!!
For those who attended Gallatin Church of God of Prophecy this Sunday, you may have recognized the topic the pastor was preaching on. He spoke about David dancing before the Lord as a worship to Him. Several of the groups last week brought up this topic in discussion. True worship comes from the heart! When we cast aside the things that come between us and the Lord, any distractions, etc., it opens the ability for true worship. Yes, when we really consider worship to the Lord, I believe we will be excited and won't want to contain our praise! Thankfully, there are many ways to show worship and honor to the Lord. It may look a little different depending on the person, but Wow, what an example David was for us and worship!
Here are just a few of the topics we discussed this week...
A brief recap of Week 13's discussions:
- David had a repentant heart.
- King Saul communicated to Samuel, who had already died, by using a medium. God allowed this to deliver a final message to Saul, a message of defeat and death.
- David might should be looked at further as an example of how we should worship the Lord. More excitement in God's house.
- David came up with a few different plans to cover up his sin with Bathsheba. In the end, he tried to cover up one sin with another... but God knew.
- David had the Ark of God transported in the wrong way. Uzzah put out his hand to grab it from falling off the cart, and God struck him dead.
Don't forget to join in with your questions or comments this week! We love hearing what you have to say. Your comments are a great encouragement to us as we read as well!
