52 Weeks in the Word - Week 22

Ladies and Gentlemen, we find ourselves at Week 22 out of 52!  Just to give you some reference, on Week 41 we begin reading the New Testament.  We are halfway through the old Testament, which is a major accomplishment!  I want to encourage you to keep up the great work!

Last week we finished Nehemiah and began Job.  I have to admit, Job is a hard book for me to read.  I had to talk to God about facing some of my obstacles with this book and stepping out of faith to begin reading it again.  Job can have a bit of bad reputation.  Many, like me, wrongly recognize the book to be about suffering.  However, this week our reading will remind us it is more about RESTORATION!  And that, my friend, is exciting!

Also this week, we begin reading the book of Psalms.  We will be in Psalms until Week 26.  The book of Psalms has a variety of authors, including David, Solomon, Asaph, and even Moses.  It is believed to be written between 1440 - 430 B.C.  Worship is obviously a key theme of the book.  God is worthy of worship!  But also, God will defend His people against their enemies.  Being in a relationship with God is the key to all joy and security is another suggestion of a key theme for Psalms.

  Looking ahead to Week 22:

The reading for Week 22 includes: Job 16 - Psalm 8.

Take some time this week to talk with the Lord about what you are reading in His Word.  Consider the restoration of Job and the worthiness of Worship to God.

Have a blessed week and keep the questions and comments coming!

Blessings!
